3 Layer Air Bubble Film Machine

In the rapidly evolving world of e-commerce and global logistics, the demand for superior protective packaging has never been higher.

Product overview

What it is,
what it makes

In the rapidly evolving world of e-commerce and global logistics, the demand for superior protective packaging has never been higher. At the heart of this industry is the air bubble film machine, a sophisticated piece of engineering designed to produce the lightweight, shock-absorbing, and moisture-resistant materials that keep products safe during transit. Whether you are a packaging manufacturer or a high-volume logistics provider, choosing the right bubble film machine is the most critical decision for your production line. A 3-layer co-extrusion air bubble film machine represents the gold standard in bubble wrap production. Unlike standard single-layer machines, this equipment utilizes three separate extrusion units to create a composite structure. This allows for the integration of specialized materials such as: By combining these materials with polyethylene (LDPE/LLDPE), the bubble film machine produces a multi-functional packaging solution that is far superior to standard bubble wrap. To achieve a maximum extrusion rate of 280-450 KG/h, our machine is built with heavy-duty components and precision-engineered motors. The screw L/D ratio of 35:1 ensures optimal plasticization, meaning the raw LDPE pellets are melted and mixed perfectly, resulting in bubbles that are clear, strong, and difficult to pop. The die head is the “soul” of the bubble film machine. We utilize 718 mold steel, which undergoes hard chrome plating. This process results in a high-hardness, anti-corrosive surface that ensures the melted plastic flows smoothly and maintains a consistent thickness acro

How it works

How it works,
step by step

Step 01 — Material Extrusion

Multi-Layer Co-Extrusion

Three independent extrusion units feed raw polymers simultaneously to construct the composite film structure. The bubble layer unit drives a 105mm diameter screw powered by a 55KW motor, the base layer unit utilizes a 95mm screw with a 45KW motor, and the coating layer unit employs a 90mm screw driven by a 37KW motor.

Step 02 — Bubble Formation

Thickness Uniformity Control

The merged material streams pass through the die and bubble forming station where inflation and cooling stabilize the air pockets. The system maintains an extrusion uniformity of 5%, ensuring consistent wall thickness and structural integrity across the film width during processing.

Step 03 — Film Winding

High-Capacity Roll Production

The finished air bubble film travels to the winding unit where tension regulation ensures defect-free roll formation. The winder accommodates maximum finished widths of 3000mm and produces industrial rolls with a maximum winding diameter of 1300mm for high-volume output.

Step 04 — System Operation

Optimized Power Management

The production line operates under centralized power control to balance load distribution across all drive components. With a total power rating of 190 KW, the machine sustains stable motor performance and energy efficiency during continuous manufacturing cycles.

Frequently asked
questions

How much does this machine cost?

Factory-direct pricing depends on your configuration — width, output, layer or color count and automation level. Send us your target specs and we confirm an exact price within one business day.

What affects the price of this machine?

The main price drivers are machine size and output, number of layers or colors, servo versus stepper drives, automation features, certifications (CE/EAC), voltage adaptation, and shipping and installation terms.

What film width and thickness can this machine produce?

The line handles the width and thickness range shown in the spec sheet — typically 500–2500 mm film width and 0.01–0.12 mm thickness, depending on the model. The exact range for your configuration is confirmed in the proposal.

What materials does it process?

Standard blown film lines process LDPE, LLDPE, HDPE, MDPE and EVA; multi-layer models also run PA and EVOH barrier layers for high-barrier packaging film.

How long is delivery?

Typical delivery is 15–30 days from order confirmation, depending on the configuration and current production schedule. We confirm the exact lead time in the quotation.

Is the machine CE certified?

Yes. Our machinery is assessed to the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU, Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and EMC Directive 2014/30/EU. The certificate of conformity is provided with the machine.

Can the line be customized?

Yes — film width, output, layer structure, die diameter and automation level are all configurable. Tell us your material and daily output target and we will size the line around it.

Do you provide installation and training?

Yes. Our engineers supervise installation and commissioning on site, run the first production trials and train your operators — on-site or remotely.
