Multi-Layer Coextrusion Blown Film Machines

Two-layer and three-layer coextrusion lines that combine different resins in one film — ABA structures for strong bags and the IBC 3-layer line for wide, uniform heavy-duty film.

Definition

What is a multi-layer coextrusion blown film machine?

A coextrusion line feeds two or three extruders into one die, so each layer can use a different resin or additive. Common structures are A/B/A (three layers with the same outer resin) and A/B/C (three different layers), giving better strength, barrier or cost control than a single layer.

How to choose

How to choose a coextrusion line

01

Decide the layer structure

A/B/A improves bag strength with two outer layers; A/B/C adds a different middle layer for performance.

02

Set width and output

ABA lines run up to 1,200 mm at 40–120 kg/h; the IBC line reaches 2,600 mm at up to 500 kg/h.

03

Check film uniformity needs

For wide heavy-duty film, internal bubble cooling keeps thickness tolerance at ≤ ±5%.

Frequently asked
questions

What does A/B/A mean?

A three-layer structure where the two outer layers use the same resin and the middle layer can use a different one — common for strong carrier bag film.

What is internal bubble cooling (IBC)?

IBC injects cooled air inside the film bubble, improving thickness uniformity at high output — the SJ-3 holds tolerance at ≤ ±5%.

What width and output does the IBC line reach?

Folded width up to 2,600 mm and max output 500 kg/h, with film thickness from 0.025 to 0.15 mm.

Which materials can the ABA line run?

LDPE, LLDPE and HDPE, with CaCO₃ masterbatch options, from 100 mm up to 1,200 mm film width.

Is 3-layer film needed for heavy bags?

For heavy-duty sacks, a 3-layer structure gives better strength and consistency than a single layer — confirm the film recipe with our engineers.
